Chill Scholar Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026 · Chill Scholar is owned and operated by Article X-29 Inc., a Florida corporation.

Chill Scholar is a Pomodoro study timer for high school and college students. It works the same way on the web at articlex29.com/chillscholar and in the iOS and Android apps. Everything you enter stays on your device. There's no sign-up, no account, and nothing for us to see.

1. What the App Stores

On your device only: the first name you choose to enter, your timer, sound and notification settings, your tasks, projects and due dates, and your study history, including completed rounds, streaks, XP and badges.

This is saved in your browser's storage (on the web) or the app's private storage (on iPhone and Android). It isn't sent to us or to anyone else. We can't see it, and we can't recover it for you if it's lost.

2. What We Don't Collect

We don't require an account, email address or password. We don't collect your location, contacts or advertising identifier. Chill Scholar has no analytics, ads, cross-app tracking or third-party trackers, and doesn't load anything from other companies' servers.

3. Scanning a Syllabus or Planner

If you use the photo scan to find due dates, the text in your photo is read by a text reader that runs entirely on your device. Your photos are never uploaded. The app only saves the dates and task names you choose to keep, not the photos.

4. Notifications

If you allow notifications, your device shows an alert when a focus round or break ends. These come from your own device, not from our servers. You can turn them off anytime in your browser or device settings.

5. Sharing

If you tap Share or Copy challenge link, the app makes a progress card and a challenge link containing your first name (if you entered one), current streak, level and focus minutes, so a friend can see what to beat. Nothing is shared until you pick where to send it, and where it goes next is up to you. Those details sit in the part of the link after the # sign, which browsers don't send to our server.

6. Our Website

Our web host, Hostinger, keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don't use them to identify or track you.

7. Deleting Your Data

On the web, clearing this site's data in your browser settings erases everything. In the app, deleting Chill Scholar erases everything it stored on that device. Because we don't hold a copy, there's nothing for us to delete on our side and no account to close.

8. Students and Children

Chill Scholar is made for high school and college students and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't collect personal information from anyone, of any age: the optional first name and study data never leave your device. If you're under 13, please use Chill Scholar with a parent's or guardian's permission.

If we ever add paid features, Apple or Google Play will handle billing and we'll update this policy first.

9. Changes to This Policy

If what the app collects or shares changes in a way that matters, for example if we add an optional account or cloud backup, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above before the change ships.

10. Contact

Send questions about this policy to support@articlex29.com (please mention Chill Scholar), or by mail to Article X-29 Inc., 5004 East Fowler Ave, Suite C-152, Tampa, FL 33617.
