DoneBrief Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026 · DoneBrief is owned and operated by Article X-29 Inc., a Florida corporation.
DoneBrief helps service businesses document a finished job and send the customer a photo report. Your jobs are saved on your phone first. Cloud backup is optional and needs an account; everything else works without one.
1. What the App Stores on Your Phone
About your business: business name, logo, contact details, trade, currency, the payment handles you choose to show on reports (such as a Cash App $cashtag, Venmo username, PayPal.me name, Zelle email or phone, and a payment note), and your review link.
About your customers and jobs: customer names, phone numbers, emails, service addresses, notes, regular-visit schedules, checklists, visit dates, task statuses and notes, photos and captions, amounts due, paid or unpaid status, and the PDF reports you create, including a record of when you shared a report and how (for example by text or email).
All of this is saved in the app's private storage on your device. If you don't use cloud backup, it isn't sent to us.
Your customers' information: you decide what to record about your customers and you're responsible for having a reason to keep it and for answering their questions about it. If a customer asks you to delete their details, Delete customer erases them everywhere the app keeps them (section 10). When you use cloud backup, we store it for you and only to provide the service to you.
2. Cloud Backup and Desktop (Optional)
If you turn on cloud backup, you sign in with your email address and a one-time code. The app then uploads your business profile, customers, addresses, checklists, jobs, photos and reports to our cloud database and file storage, hosted by Supabase, so you can restore them on a new phone and open them on a computer. Each account's data is kept separate and can only be read by that account. Data is encrypted in transit and stored encrypted at rest by our hosting provider.
We use your email address only to sign you in and to contact you about your account or subscription. We don't sell it or use it for marketing without asking you first.
We don't look at your jobs, photos or customers. Our team would access an account's stored data only if you ask us to help with a problem, or if the law requires it.
3. Anonymous Usage Counts
To learn whether DoneBrief is useful, the app sends a few anonymous counts, such as "a report was created", "a report was shared", "the app was opened today", "the plans screen was shown" or "a purchase was completed". Each count comes with the date and time, a random install ID made on your phone, the platform (iPhone or Android), the app version, the app language, the region setting of your phone and the trade you picked.
Counts never include photos, notes, names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, amounts, payment handles or your cloud account, and the install ID isn't linked to any of them. They aren't used for advertising or tracking across apps. You can turn them off anytime in Settings with "Share anonymous usage counts"; turning them off also deletes the install ID and any counts waiting to be sent. Our hosting provider's standard request logs may briefly include your IP address when counts are sent.
4. Camera, Photos and Files
DoneBrief asks for the camera only when you take a job photo, and uses the system photo picker when you add photos you already have, so it sees only the photos you pick. If you turn on "Also save photos to this phone's gallery", the app adds copies of the job photos you take to your photo library; it doesn't read your library to do this. You can change these permissions anytime in your device settings.
5. Reports, Messages and Pay Links
Reports are made into PDFs on your device. When you share one, or send a payment reminder or review request, the app opens your phone's share sheet, messages app or email app with the text filled in. You choose who it goes to, and that service's own privacy policy applies. Opening a share sheet doesn't tell us anything about who you sent it to.
Pay links and QR codes on a report point to the payment handles you entered. DoneBrief doesn't process payments, doesn't see whether your customer paid, and never receives card or bank details. Payments happen inside Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle or your bank, under their own terms and privacy policies. "Paid" and "unpaid" are labels you set.
6. Notifications
Regular-visit reminders are scheduled on your device by your phone's operating system. We don't send them from a server and we don't receive anything when they appear. You can turn them off in the app or in your device settings.
7. Subscriptions and Payments
Apple (on iPhone and iPad) or Google Play (on Android) handles all billing. We never see your card number or billing address.
We use RevenueCat to check which plan you have and whether it's active. RevenueCat receives an app user ID (a random ID, or your cloud account ID if you're signed in, so your plan follows you to other devices), your App Store or Google Play purchase records, and basic technical details such as device type, operating system and app version. It doesn't receive your jobs, photos or customers. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
8. Backup Files and Exports
Settings › Backup & restore can also make a backup file, and a job can be exported as a folder of photos and a PDF. These are created on your phone and you choose where they go, such as Files, Google Drive, iCloud Drive, email or a computer. That service's own privacy policy then applies.
On Android, the phone's own automatic backup to your Google account may include DoneBrief's data if you have it turned on. On iPhone, iCloud Backup may include it under your Apple account.
9. Who Receives Data
We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising. The only outside companies that receive data from the app are the service providers named above, each only for its job: Supabase (cloud backup, sign-in codes and usage counts), RevenueCat (subscription status), and Apple or Google (purchases and, if you use them, device backups). We may disclose information if the law requires it.
10. Deleting Your Data
- A visit or a customer: open it in the app and tap Delete this visit or Delete customer. Its details, notes, photos and reports are erased from that phone, from your cloud backup and from your other signed-in devices. Reports you already sent stay with the people you sent them to. Uninstalling DoneBrief removes everything it stored on that device.
- Your cloud account and backup: in the app, go to Settings › Backup & restore › Delete cloud account. This permanently deletes your account, every record, photo and PDF stored online. Jobs on your phone stay. If you no longer have the app, email support@articlex29.com from the account's email address with the subject "DoneBrief account deletion"; we delete the account and its data within 30 days and confirm by email.
- Usage counts: turn off "Share anonymous usage counts" in Settings. That deletes the install ID on your phone; counts we already received aren't linked to you or to anything else, so we can't tell which ones came from you.
- Subscription records held by RevenueCat: email us with the subject "DoneBrief data deletion"; we delete that customer record within 30 days. Apple and Google keep their own purchase records under their policies.
- Backup files and shared reports are wherever you or your customer saved them; delete them there.
Cloud data is kept until you delete it or your account. Cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings; deleting the app doesn't cancel it.
11. Children
DoneBrief is a business tool for adults and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to how it's used. Most of this you can do yourself in the app; for anything else, email us. If you're in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, Article X-29 Inc. is the controller for your account and usage counts, and processes your customers' information on your behalf when you use cloud backup. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
13. Changes to This Policy
If what the app collects or shares changes in a way that matters, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above before the change ships, and say so in the app.
14. Contact
Send questions about this policy to support@articlex29.com (please mention DoneBrief), or by mail to Article X-29 Inc., 5004 East Fowler Ave, Suite C-152, Tampa, FL 33617.
