RoundReady · Inspection rounds

The clipboard, retired.

RoundReady is inspection software for the shops that keep a building running: HVAC, electrical, pipe, plumbing and the central plant, plus life safety. A tech scans a QR sticker, runs the checklist, adds readings and photos, signs, and the round reaches the manager. Every record is ready when the surveyor or the fire marshal asks.

Why we're building it

Hospitals, campuses, municipal buildings and plants inspect the same equipment every day, week and month: extinguishers, eyewash stations, exit lights, generators, chillers, boilers, air handlers. Most of that work still lives on paper tags and clipboards that get lost, smudged or filled in later from memory.

For the basement, not the boardroom

Mechanical rooms have no signal. RoundReady saves every inspection on the phone first and sends it the moment the phone finds a connection, even if the app is closed.

For the crew you actually have

Many facilities crews work in Spanish. The whole app, every starter checklist and every report switch between English and Spanish with one tap, so nobody has to translate a reading in their head.

For the day of the survey

An auditor wants to see that the work was done, by whom, against which procedure, and what happened when something failed. RoundReady keeps that chain intact and prints it in one PDF.

What it does

Built for one site first, and for a whole department on the cloud.

Scan to inspect

Print QR labels on standard Avery sheets, stick one on each asset, scan it, and the right checklist opens: pass / fail / N/A, numeric readings, required photos, notes and a signature.

Corrective actions

A failed step opens a corrective action with an owner, a priority, a due date and a stage. It closes with a passing re-inspection or a note and a photo of the fix. Past-due actions surface on the manager's dashboard.

Schedules that match the rules

Rolling intervals or calendar dates (the 1st of the month, Mondays, end of each quarter), grace windows, weekend and holiday handling, and a calendar of the load ahead.

Manager tools

Overdue and this-week work for every shop and building, a drag-and-drop board to hand out work, end-of-shift reports from techs, and one-tap requests for a photo or clarification.

Checklists with sources

Sixty starter checklists: forty across five hospital shops, plus packs for K-12 schools, water and wastewater, property management and food processing. Each cites the code it follows (NFPA, ANSI, ASHRAE, OSHA, FDA, AWWA) and the Joint Commission standard where one applies. Every inspection records which checklist version it used.

QR labels and NFC tags

Stick a QR label on each asset, or add an NFC tag that survives paint, grease and frost. Tap the phone to the tag and the right checklist opens. NFC works on Android today; iPhone support is coming.

Analytics for managers

Coverage by shop and month, first-try pass rate, how long corrective actions take to close, the open backlog over time, and each tech's workload, over 3, 6 or 12 months.

Share a checklist

Turn any checklist into a code you can paste into an email or a chat. Another team imports it in one tap, so a good procedure spreads across sites without retyping.

Audit-ready reports

A PDF by site, equipment type and date range with every step, reading, photo and signature, plus open corrective actions by age. Exports your data as CSV or JSON whenever you want it.

Fits your systems

Signed webhooks, a read API and a work-order export for the CMMS you already use, and a daily email digest for managers.

Accountable records

Accounts for every device, a record of who recorded each inspection, history kept when anything is changed, and managers who can deactivate a lost phone in one tap.

Where it stands

An honest progress report, updated October 2026.

Built
The full app for iPhone, Android and the desktop browser, with cloud sync between them; manager and technician modes; corrective actions; scheduling; reports; analytics; integrations; NFC tags; industry checklist packs; English and Spanish.
In testing
Running end to end on real phones and a desktop with a fictional demo hospital: inspections, photos and shift reports moving between devices, offline sends, and the daily manager email. Load-tested with 10,000 assets and over 500,000 inspection records.
Next
Pilots with facilities departments, then the Apple App Store and Google Play. RoundReady is free during launch; paid plans for teams and facilities come later, and records made during launch are kept.
Not a promise
RoundReady records the inspections your team performs. It does not certify regulatory compliance; verify intervals and procedures against the code editions your authority having jurisdiction enforces.

Run a pilot with us

We're looking for a facilities team (a hospital, a campus, a municipal building or a plant) to put RoundReady on a few phones for a month. We set it up with you: your shops, your equipment list, your people and your QR labels. Email support@articlex29.com with "RoundReady pilot" in the subject.

Does it work without Wi-Fi or cell signal?

Yes. Everything is saved on the phone first. When the phone finds a connection it sends what's waiting, including photos, even if the app is closed.

Which phones and computers?

iPhone, Android phones and tablets, and any modern desktop browser for the manager's office. They all share one organization through RoundReady's cloud.

Is it in Spanish?

Yes, the whole app, the starter checklists and the reports. Each person picks their language, and a manager can read a report in English that a tech filled in in Spanish.

Can we use our own checklists?

Yes. Copy and edit any starter checklist or build your own. Each edit becomes a new version, and past inspections keep the version they were done against.

Where is our data, and can we take it with us?

Records sync through servers in the United States (AWS us-east-1), readable only by members of your organization. A manager can export everything at any time, and the organization's owner can delete it from the cloud. See the privacy policy.

Does it hold patient information?

No. RoundReady records equipment inspections, not patient care, and we ask hospital teams not to enter patient information in notes or photos.

What does it cost?

It's free during launch. When paid plans begin, existing organizations get notice first and keep everything they've recorded.
