DoneBrief Terms of Use

Last updated: October 12, 2026 · DoneBrief is owned and operated by Article X-29 Inc., a Florida corporation.

These terms cover the DoneBrief app, its desktop version and its optional cloud backup (together, the "App"). By downloading or using it, you agree to them. If you use the App for a business, you agree on behalf of that business. If you don't agree, please don't use the App. Section 14 asks you to resolve disputes by individual arbitration and gives you a way to opt out.

1. Who Can Use DoneBrief

DoneBrief is a business tool for people who do service work. You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live, to use it or buy a plan.

2. Reports Are Your Records, Not Proof

DoneBrief turns the checklists, notes and photos you record into a report. The report says what you entered. Photos, dates and times come from your device and can be wrong if its clock or settings are wrong. Reports are documentation, not verified evidence, inspections, certifications or legal proof that work was done or that damage did or didn't exist. Sharing a report opens your phone's share sheet or messages app; it doesn't confirm that your customer received or read it.

You're responsible for what your reports say, for checking a report before you send it, and for the agreements you make with your customers.

3. Your Customers' Information

You decide what you record about your customers. Only record information you have a right to keep and use, follow the privacy and marketing laws that apply to your business, and send messages (reports, payment reminders, review requests) only to people who expect to hear from you. See the DoneBrief Privacy Policy for how the App handles data.

When you use cloud backup, we process your customers' information for you. We store and use it only to provide the App to you and on your instructions (what you record, change, export or delete). We keep it confidential, protect it with reasonable technical and organizational security, and use service providers (such as our cloud host) only under written terms that protect it the same way. We help you answer your customers' requests with the App's Delete customer and export features, delete it when you delete it or your cloud account, and tell you without undue delay if we learn of a security breach affecting it. If your business needs a signed data processing agreement (for example under the GDPR), email us.

4. Pay Links and Getting Paid

DoneBrief can show your own Cash App, Venmo, PayPal or Zelle details, pay links and QR codes on a report. DoneBrief isn't a payment service: it doesn't process, hold, transfer or guarantee any payment, and it can't tell whether a customer paid. Payments happen between you and your customer inside those services, under their terms, fees and limits. Check that your payment details are correct (the App's "Test my link" helps), and keep in mind that some services limit business use of personal accounts. "Paid" and "unpaid" are labels you set. DoneBrief doesn't make invoices, calculate taxes or keep accounting records for you.

5. Reminders

Regular-visit reminders are scheduled on your device by its operating system. Delivery isn't guaranteed: notification permissions, Do Not Disturb or Focus settings, battery saving, restarts and time-zone changes can delay or stop them. Please don't rely on reminders alone for your schedule.

6. Your Data, Backups and Cloud

Everything you enter, including photos and reports, belongs to you. It's saved on your device first. You're responsible for keeping backups, either with the App's cloud backup or with backup files you save yourself. Uninstalling the App deletes what it stored on that device.

Cloud backup is optional and needs an account. You're responsible for keeping access to the email address you sign in with. We work to keep cloud backup reliable but can't promise it will never be unavailable. If you delete your cloud account, its online data is permanently deleted and can't be recovered.

7. Plans and Free Trial

DoneBrief is free to download. The free trial includes three completed reports with every feature, including Pro features. After that, a plan is needed to complete reports for new jobs. Two plans are available: DoneBrief, for unlimited reports, checklists, cloud backup and the desktop version, and DoneBrief Pro, which adds business tools such as pay links, payment tracking and reminders, review requests and regular-visit reminders. Features and prices are shown in the App before you buy and may change; a price change for an active subscription follows the App Store or Google Play notice rules. Languages are never a paid feature.

Plans are auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage, change or cancel it anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App doesn't cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.

If a plan ends, nothing you've recorded is locked away. You can still document jobs, view your history, re-share earlier reports, make backup files, export your records and restore a backup. Cloud backup pauses and the desktop version becomes read-only until you subscribe again.

8. Apple App Store Downloads

If you got the App from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA") applies to your use of it, and these terms add to it. If the two conflict, the Standard EULA controls. Apple isn't responsible for the App or its support; Article X-29 Inc. is.

9. Your License

We give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own business or personal use. Please don't copy, resell, reverse engineer or misuse the App, try to reach other people's data, overload our servers, or use the App to send spam or break the law. The App's name, artwork, built-in checklists and design belong to Article X-29 Inc.; you may freely use the checklists and reports you make with them.

10. Third-Party Services

The App works with services we don't control, including Apple and Google (purchases, notifications and device backups), RevenueCat (checking which plan you have), Supabase (cloud backup and sign-in), Cash App, Venmo, PayPal and Zelle (payments between you and your customers), review sites you link to, and your phone's camera, photos, files, messages, email and share sheet. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to them.

11. Ending Access

You can stop using the App at any time by deleting it, deleting your cloud account and canceling your plan in your store account. We may suspend or end access to the cloud backup and desktop version if you misuse the App or break these terms; we'll give you a chance to download your data first unless the law or an urgent security problem prevents it.

12. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, that reminders will arrive, that reports will be accepted by any customer, insurer or court, or that any customer will pay.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Article X-29 Inc. isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost profits, lost payments, lost data, or disputes between you and your customers. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

You agree to cover our reasonable losses from claims brought by others, including your customers, that arise from how you use the App or your breach of these terms.

14. Disputes and Arbitration

Please contact us first at support@articlex29.com; most concerns can be solved that way. If we can't resolve a dispute within 60 days, you and Article X-29 Inc. agree to resolve it by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its applicable rules, rather than in court. The arbitration may be held by video or phone, or in Hillsborough County, Florida, or the county where you live. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court.

Class action waiver: claims may be brought only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative proceeding.

Opt-out: you can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@articlex29.com with your name and the words "DoneBrief arbitration opt-out" within 30 days of first accepting these terms. If you opt out, or if this section is found unenforceable, disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Hillsborough County, Florida.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable US federal law, including the Federal Arbitration Act, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live outside the United States, you may also have rights under your local law that these terms don't take away.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the App changes. We'll post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date above; for significant changes we'll also say so in the App. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept it. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Sections 2–4, 6 and 12–15 continue to apply after you stop using the App.
